This blog follows artist Olivia O'Donovan's residency in the Maternity Hospital in Limerick, Ireland. The residency started in 2010. A project was developed from a series of watercolours that she painted whilst being a patient in the antenatal ward during her second pregnancy. From these pieces Olivia encourages other women in antenatal care to tell their stories through paint using the brief "my head, my heart, my womb".

“..... you don’t think you could draw anything properly and then the work turned out different and it’s relaxing and helps get your mind off stuff....shows I can paint beautiful stuff.”
All paintings are by the women in the ante-natal care ward in Limerick Maternity Hospital. This project has been generously supported and funded by Limerick Arts Office.
